പരിസ്ഥിതി ദിനപ്രസംഗം.

പരിസ്ഥിതി ദിനത്തിന് ഞാന്‍ സ്കൂളില്‍ നടത്തിയ പ്രസംഗം.

Respected dignitaries on the dias, and my dear friends,

Today; 5^th June, we assembled here as a part of the world environmental day and this year is celebrated as the biodiversity year. On this great occasion I would like to share you something about some environmental issues now we are facing.

We know that a branch of UNO (united national organization) WWF (world wide fund for nature and natural resources) is celebrating the world environmental day for aware the people about the importance of the environment and nature. But now what can we see around us? The hills of plastics and other wastes, the anger of the summer….where is the forest now? The increasing of deforestation is vanishing the forests from the world.  Now I would like to remember you the words of great Malayalam poet K. Ayyappa panikkar that is

കാടെവിടെ മക്കളെ
വീടെവിടെ മക്കളെ
കാട്ടുപുല്‍തകിടിയുടെ 
വേരെവിടെ മക്കളെ

 He is asking to the society, the whole human being where’s the forest?.. the question of our mother nature.  Now the  policy of the human beings is to bring, use and throw.Because of this, the plastics are laying on the soil and it is not allowing the water to pass through the soil. The plasticide from the plastics will dissolve in the water and it may cause many dangerous disease like cancer. And when the plastics are burned there will produce a dangerous gas called dioxin. It can burn or kill even a child in the stomach of a pregnant lady. And may cause dangerous disease like cancer and something more than that. The dioxin will pollute soil, air and also water. The other main problem is global warming. The increasing of carbon dioxide due to deforestation will make the atmosphere very hot. And it will melt the ice burgs in Antarctica and cause terrible flood. The CFC from the devices like refrigerator and AC will destroy the Ozone layer and UV rays will pass though the hole in the ozone layer. And the excess use of motor vehicles will increase the amount of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere. And other main problem is sand mining, soil erosion ….the huge factories are emitting dangerous gases and may cause the destruction of nature and also the entire human society. The main example for it is the Bhopal tragedy. The dangerous gas Mithel issosayenite emitted from the “beautifull factory” in the Bhopal caused the death of more than 50,000 peoples and gifted more than 10,000  people dangerous disease. Mainly it polluted the air in a very big amount. The interference of the men in the environment adversely effect the human beings at last. But the human beings are not realizing the truth.

So that the amount of motor vehicles must be controlled and the cutting of trees tremendously must be banned. And I remember you that the Earth is not a gift for us from the ancestors; we borrowed it from the future, the new coming generation. In this day we want to take a pledge that we will conserve our nature. With remembering 2010’s UNO’s message “many species, one planet, one future” I would like to conclude my words.
